The survey has been completed

We worked with engineer Paul Kundzins to create a survey of our new lot. Overall, Paul has been great to work with and has offered us a good bit of information and consulting to help us make decisions.
The only problem we encountered with him was that the surveying company he used made an executive decision (ie: without asking our permission) to make more cuts to the trees on the lot than were needed, thereby increasing the cost. When they came back to us, they mentioned that they had made this decision and that it would cost more than the $1,500 we were quoted for the survey. It’s funny, but we totally weren’t cool with this, considering we were never asked. However, when we raised this with the surveying company, they agreed that they should have asked our permission and just billed us the agreed upon rate.
Here’s what the lot looks like. As you’ll see, there’s a lot of elevation gain on the right side. At first we thought we’d want to site the house there, but now we’re not so sure. More on this later.
